China's primary aluminum imports up 9 pct year-on-year in first 11months

Shanghai. December 22. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's imports of primary
aluminum between January and November this year grew by 9.11 percent
year-on-year, despite November imports tumbling when compared to that of
October, according to General Administration of Customs statisticsreleased on Dec. 22.
China imported 6,428 tons of primary aluminum in November, down 38.38
percent from the previous month, bringing the country's imports over the
first 11 months of the year to 108,133 tons.
Imports of alumina between January and November dropped by 13.44 percent
year-on-year to 4.15 million tons, while imports for November alone
climbed by 45.85 percent month-on-month to 377,114 tons.
Bauxite imports decreased by 18 percent from October to 1.4 million tons
in November, while imports for the first 11 months came to 24.48 million
tons, up 15.67 percent on an annual basis.

November and the first 11 months of the year. Totals given are for
selected countries or regions plus volumes of unlisted countries and
regions.
